BLUE LOVERS DESIGN SCHEME OF THE WEEK
If you love blues we have so many printed linen fabrics for you to choose from. So which do you select and how might you combine them in a room scheme?
Here’s a suggested scheme that blends prints in inky blue tones and illustrates how they might work with wall colours.
We love to layer up printed linens using one hero fabric for either a centre piece focal point such as a large footstool, headboard or curtains and then combine them with contrasting prints of differing scales but similar colour tones.
Wall Colours:
Pictured here is Stiffkey Blue by Farrow & Ball and Ultra Marine no.27 (Farrow & Ball)
Equally this scheme can look really fresh with warm white walls such as Wimborne White or Stone coloured painted walls such as Purbeck Stone or a creamy stone such as Cotswold Cottage (Fenwick & Tilbrook).
Which Fabrics?:
Here we have used the Willow Mesh Inky Sky pure linen as the hero fabric in the scheme for large roman blinds with handmade porcelain button trims. We would suggest a Whirlwind Inky Sky footstool or accent chairs and scatter cushions in the other fabrics shown:
Sea Tangle Inky Sky on Natural
Mottram Meadow Inky Sky on Natural
Ammi Inky Sky
To create some whiter tones to contrast you might like to add some cushions in Prestbury Blade White on Natural or Slade Stripe White on Natural.
All fabrics can be ordered here online by collection but we would always suggest you order swatches first. See the full collections as swatches to choose from here.
