Scheme of the week - Yellow Ochre
We bring you happy, sunshiny colours for Feb 2021 and here’s some ideas of how to create an interior scheme with them…
Yellow Ochre is a gorgeous warm yellow that will lift any room scheme and works well with a broad selection of wall paint colours. From warm whites to duck egg, to grey-blues, through to teals and navy blues. The choice is vast so here’s a few pointers on paint colours we love to get you started and hopefully will help you narrow down your colour choices without it costing the earth in tester pots!
Recommended Paint Colours
Slipper Satin or Wimbourne White from Farrow & Ball for a neutral warm white wall. Alternatively Stone I by Paint & Paper Library is a great warm white neutral
For mid tones try Coat Paints Hamilton or Lamp Room Grey by Farrow & Ball. For a lighter greyer blue try Pavillion Grey Farrow & Ball
For Teals that work well try Denimes or Inchyra Blue by Farrow & Ball or 68 Degrees North by Fenwick & Tilbrook. Also Burlington Arcade by Myalnds.
For dark blues try Stiffkey Blue or Hague Blue by Farrow & Ball or darker still Bond Street by Mylands.
If you already have blue or grey walls this colour should work well for you across all of our yellow ochre linen fabrics and contrasts beautifully.
These fabrics look lovely as curtains and roman blinds. I would suggest combining two different fabrics if you are going for a layered look with both curtains and blinds eg: Slade Stripe curtains with Seafoam blinds.
The white based fabrics like the Feather Blade and Seafoam both in yellow ochre make great decorative scatter cushions for bedrooms especially if edged with pom-poms. The Whirlwind Yellow Ochre linen looks fabulous as large oversized curtains for a dramatic design in a fresh, spring colour.
The Seafoam Yellow Ochre looks stunning as a lampshade too especially against dark walls. You can order lampshades made to order here on our website.
Lampshade above in Seafoam Full Yellow Ochre combined with base from Pooky Lighting. All of our yellow ochre fabrics can be found in our New Elements Collection.
