Teal is one of those in-betweeny colours that people both see differently and define differently. Teals can be very blue or greeny in tone as well as light and dark. How we use them in an interior scheme can completely transform the feel of a room. I would try to use darker tones for a study, dining room or bedroom and greener, duller tones in sitting rooms, keeping the brighter, lighter shades for kids rooms, kitchens, dressing rooms and loos. But of course there are no rules - it’s very much personal choice.

I would recommend the following paint colours when you start out looking at Teal colours:

Burlington Arcade by Mylands for quite a bright, fun Teal tone

Major Tom by Fenwick & Tilbrook for a ‘true’ Teal to give your room and complete colour punch.

Inchyra Blue by Farrow & Ball - a deep, sludgy greeny Teal and is quite grown up. It somehow balances contemporary and classic.
