Design Collective with Jane Skane-Davis

Here at ZGHQ we are always happy to help you put together a design scheme, however we also love seeing how different interior designers use our fabrics in their projects. So we thought we’d bring you a selection of projects, presented as mood boards, created by interior designers that we respect and admire. Welcome to our Design Collective House!

This week we asked Jane Skane-Davis to put together a scheme for a sitting room using her favourite fabrics from our collections.

A little bit about Jane:

Jane moved to The Cotswolds 29 years ago and started a business doing paint effects on furniture, bathrooms and kitchens when her 3 boys were young. She quickly progressed her love of interiors and has developed an interiors business working with talented local artisans, soft furnishing specialists, fabric, furniture, and accessory suppliers etc

‘For me this business is all about working with the clients and understanding their briefs and visions. Essentially, it’s also about delivering a finished look which goes beyond their expectations both functionally and visually, and also recognizing the need to consider the environment as we move forward.’

Jane has previously worked with our Zoe Glencross fabrics on a number of projects including The Spa at The Dormy House Hotel and The Fish Hotel, both in the Cotswolds. Jane has combined blues and warm yellow tones to create a contemporary, colourful sitting room scheme below.

Design Concept for a Living Room Area by Jane Skane-Davis

Colour palette:  Blue, Yellow, accent tones

Furniture:  An eclectic mix of seating including leather, wood, linens and velvets

Fabrics: Zoe Glencross linens and cottons

Detail: The Design aims to include fabrics to complement the sofas, chair and furniture shapes.

The wallpaper would be used on a feature wall or either side of the fireplace.

The rest of the room to be painted in Shaded White and the ceiling in School House White both from Farrow and Ball.

The curtains or roman blinds in Nordic Trail Ocean negative and edged in the ivory bobble trim which will balance the wallpaper in the room

Cushions: The rest of the fabrics are for an infusion of colour and textures on the sofas and chairs. These would be piped in recycled plain fabrics

Furniture: The Moon leaf rug from Jacaranda is to be placed under the seating with the coffee table and side tables positioned accordingly. The rest of the furniture/accessories will complement the room scheme.

We a delighted with Jane’s room scheme and love the way she combines lots of colour and print. We look forward to seeing other schemes proposed for other rooms in our Design Collective house!
